Presidents Report on the 2016 Shetland Super Show, 29th - 30th October
Bathurst turned on two lovely days for our Super Show this
year. Many thanks go to Mr Tony Bell our judge from Ireland and Mrs Diane
Chesmar our judge from New Zealand for travelling such long distances to
officiate at our show. I believe they each judged the types they liked. I feel
that the judges being unknown to the exhibitors, gave everyone and equal chance
of winning a ribbon. We would like to thank our Patron Mrs Chris Barrett and
her guest Mrs Anne Sleigh for attending the show.
The Scots School Band who was so professional made the
initial day of the show very special. Thanks to you all.
Congratulations to the Fletcher Family for winning Supreme exhibit
also the Hogg family for winning Best Opposite Sex. Both these ponies were bred
at Pilinta Park in Victoria.
Congratulations to Maxton park – The Fouracre Family for
winning Most Successful Exhibitor over the weekend. Congratulations go to
Charlotte Fouracre for her skills in showing the ponies in all classes entered.
All other ribbon winners – Congratulations!!
To a friend and ex-member and breeder, I would personally like to
thank Mr Howard Blight for donating our 2016 Super Show Catalogue.
To our wonderful Sponsors, Companies and individuals, who
once again supported us with cash donations and goods without which we would
not have been able to run our Super Show, we are most grateful.
I would like to thank all these people who were our hard working
Stewards over the weekend – Jenny Saunders, Announcer, Chief Steward Tony
Hellyer, Steward Joan Walsh, Steward Allan Evans, Stewards from Scots School, Nerrell
Williams, Steward, Laura Fletcher Steward, Leah Wailes. With the help received
from all these good people we had a successful Show.
Our Magazine Editor, Margaret Wright, who has worked so hard
for so long to assemble all the information for the show schedule and a major
effort which was the beautiful Catalogue put lovingly together by Margaret for
all the Special Guests and Exhibitors. I send you a very sincere thank you.
special and sincere thanks to these people who supported me the whole weekend
and worked tirelessly – Robert, Jane, Laura and Hannah Fletcher who are
non-committee members. Without their support I would not have been able to run
the Show successfully.
Glenda Forbes picked me up at Sutton Forest to go to
Bathurst, first filling her esky with all the essentials for the show. My sincere
thanks go to you.
To Jan who coordinated with Margaret to print Ring Books, Schedules
and all associated tasks and running me all over the place to order Rugs,
T-shirts, Caps, Trophies and the trimmings which are so important to the
outcome of the Super Show. Thank you.
To the Committee members who were able to help organise the
Show I say a sincere thank you.
Kind Regards Ray.
